World Handicapping System
WHS will be implemented at Cardigan Golf Club from 2nd November 2020

The vision to unify the six different handicap systems in use around the world into a single World Handicap System required the commitment of, and collaboration between, many organizations who played their part in establishing the key principles, which shaped the proposals and drove forward the initiative to the point where the new World Handicap System is being introduced to the golfing world during 2020.

Along with Clubs around the country, Cardigan Golf Club moved to the new system on 2nd November and although at first glance it may seem very complex, the basics are still the same. You will have a handicap and it will go up or down depending on how well you are playing. The main objective is to align handicap systems around the world, making it easier, more accurate and more enjoyable when you play at other courses, be they in Wales, other parts of the UK or abroad.
